About Stephanie Petix Willard

Stephanie Petix Willard, LAc, MSOM, received her Master of Science degree in Oriental Medicine from the New York College of Wholistic Health Education and Research in Syosset, New York, where they emphasized a course of study in Traditional Chinese Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine. Stephanie is a Licensed Acupuncturist through the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners and is certified as a Diplomate in Acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Stephanie found a passion for Japanese Style Acupuncture while studying at the New York College and has since taken several courses of study with world renowned Japanese style practitioners learning a wide variety of gentle and effective treatment modalities for many different patterns. Japanese Style utilizes very fine needles with shallow or no insertion, and is wonderful for rebalancing the body when it is out of whack or stressed. Her emphasis is on the emotional body and how the emotions get stuck and manifest in different ways. Stephanie also specializes in cupping, which is a technique that uses glass cups that are placed on the skin (often on the back), creating a vacuum, relieving muscle tension, particularly in the back and shoulder area. Many of her patients rave about the effects cupping along with acupuncture has had on their built up stress points.

She believes in the bodies innate ability in healing itself and utilizes a number of different methods to guide that to happen: Traditional Chinese and Japanese Styles of acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, auriculotherapy, acupressure, moxibustion, massage, cupping therapy, gua sha, dietary and lifestyle counseling, breathing and meditation techniques, and guided imagery work.

I had severe back and hip pain from a work related injury and the pain completely resolved within a couple of months. Whenever you are having a bad day, come see Stephanie and she will definately brightn it!
